Engineering event gets BIS guest
With just over a week to go before the start of the Partners4Engineering 2009 event, the organisers have announced that a key figure from the Government’s Department of Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) is coming to present at the morning conference.
Tanya Sheridan is the Joint Team Leader of the Engineering Construction Review at the BIS and will be delivering a presentation on the national perspective on ‘engineering productivity’.
While she is in the region Tanya is keen to meet as many local North East engineering companies and explore their view on the big issue of Engineering Productivity.
Stan Higgins, the CEO of NEPIC, who are helping to organise the event, said: “I hope that many of our members and the directors and managers of engineering companies and those companies that are involved in the engineering supply chain, take full advantage of this opportunity to better understand the Big Issue of Engineering Productivity which will undoubtedly impact on the future development of the UK engineering and process industry.”
There is an afternoon Business Collaboration Forum (2pm - 4pm) which will provide companies with an opportunity to explore various supplier chain possibilities via a series of 15 minute one-to-one meetings with the participating companies.
The event is being held in the Durham Radisson SAS Hotel on Thursday 2 July, and is being organised by The Allancia Group and NEPIC (The North East Process Industry Cluster).
