North East interiors firms pool resources
Two of the region’s interiors companies are joining forces to beat the recession.
Brava Lifestyle and Bulmer Interior Contracts are embarking on a joint venture to provide a tailored service while cutting out the middle man.
The move will see Brava, currently based on Teesside, moving to the Bulmer Interiors premises in Byker, where a 16-strong team of craftsmen, architects and designers are already in place.
Brava Lifestyle MD Eric Lloyd said: “Now is the perfect time to pool our talents and resources. In this climate, everybody is looking to tighten their belts and by joining forces we can cut costs, savings which we can pass directly on to our clients.
“This partnership means we can take the customer’s concept from an idea to a finished product, all from one site.”
All the joint firms’ services will be run from the Byker workshop, eliminating the cost of outsourcing and keeping all elements of the business in the North East.
The companies are already putting the finishing touches to their first collaboration – a multi-purpose storage unit which also doubles as a dividing partition to maximise space.
Peter Bulmer, MD of Bulmer Interior Contracts, said: “Between us, Eric and I have a combined experience of almost 60 years in the business and pooling our expertise in this way can only benefit both of the businesses and, of course, our clients.”
