Twestival returns to North East
Users of the web-based messaging service Twitter will gather in the North East in the coming week as part of an international event where they can socialise and raise money for charity.
On Thursday 10 September the Tees Twestival will follow in the footsteps of Berlin, Madrid, Los Angeles, Sydney and New York, bringing Twitter users together to help raise at least £1000 for Teesside Hospice.
Organisers Better Brand Agency are holding the event at The Hub at Teesside University Students’ Union, timed to coincide with other Twestivals being held all over the world.
A few days later the Newcastle Twitter community will get in on the act with an event at Hoult’s Yard in aid of NECCR. This event takes place on Monday 14 Septmeber, and also aims to raise more than £1000.
The previous Twestival events, which took place in 202 cities all over the globe in February this year, funded 55 clean water projects across the world for charity:water.
