Are you a boss that doesn?t say thanks?
A recent bdaily poll has shown that the majority of North East bosses admit to not recognising the hard work of the employees they may rely upon most.
In the poll that asked North East managing directors whether their PAs felt appreciated, more than 50% of the 110 respondents reported they had no idea - because they never ask.
Fortunately, those with organisations based across the NE, DH and SR postcodes now have the opportunity to make amends, by nominating their top team players for the Best Secretary on Tyneside Awards before the deadline of Thursday 10 September 2009.
The awards ceremony is taking place for the second year running at Tiger Tiger in Newcastle on Wednesday 30 September 2009. Entries can be made at www.bestsecretaryontyneside.co.uk and the winner will receive the top prize of a London weekend break for two with first class travel and one year’s membership of the IPA.
Dave Stevens of Pitman Training Newcastle said: “The poll we carried out was supposed to be a bit of fun and we were actually rather surprised to find out that most managing directors don’t even ask whether their PAs and secretaries feel appreciated – which means it’s unlikely they are getting the recognition they deserve.
“Luckily for these bosses, the Best Secretary on Tyneside competition is an easy way to say thanks to their PAs, who we all know are the unsung business heroes – as long as they remember to enter online at www.bestsecretaryontyneside.co.uk by the deadline, of course!”
