New venture banking on success of first project
A company formed by a team of North East e-learning experts is set to launch its first product into the marketplace.
Chapman Latimer, based in Jarrow, has created a simulated online banking program, Bank Safe, which allows learners to do anything they could do with a real online banking system without a live internet connection or real currency.
Bank Safe is aimed primarily at potential clients in schools, further and adult education.
Steven Chapman, Operations Director of Chapman Latimer, said: “Our main objective with Bank Safe, and the other products we are currently developing, is to ensure that people are given the opportunity to experience how ICT is used within companies, effectively preparing them for working life.”
The business was formed by Steven and his partners Terry Charlton and Ian Chapman, who between them have experience of working in educational environments, as well as for e-learning organisations including LearnDirect, University for Industry (Ufi) and CiA Training Ltd.
Bank Safe is the first in a range of simulated programs which are being developed by Chapman Latimer.
