The reason for Cake Mondays
At this time of year everyone in the North East gets inundated with sponsorship requests from friends, family, and colleagues taking part in the Great North Run. We’re a charitable bunch here at bdaily, and although many of our readers are taking part, there’s one bunch in particular that we’re supporting.
Three members of bgroup, who share our offices at b on the quay, are taking part in the run this year – and have raised more than £900 so far.
Jo George, Emily Durham, and Ciara Diamond have been training since March, and have raised the money for the Prince’s Trust through donations from bdaily and bgroup, our suppliers and clients, friends, family, and (our personal favourite) Cake Mondays.
They are looking to raise a total of £1250, and would like the help of the bdaily readership to get there. Donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/bgroup, and any amount is welcome.
Apparently Emily has signed up to run the Edinburgh Marathon next year, and Jo and Ciara will be taking part in a sofa-sitting session at the same time.
No-one has yet told us if Cake Mondays will be continuing after this weekend.
