North East play centre receives national recognition
A North East play centre has been recognised as being among the best in the country, after receiving two awards from one of the industry’s most discerning bodies.
Adventurelands family entertainment centre in Newcastle has been named as best overall brand by the national Play Providers Association (PPA), which aims to improve standards in the play sector across the UK. Adventurelands also won the best food and beverage offering award.
Run by husband and wife team John and Nicki Trewhitt, Adventurelands prides itself on offering visitors a variety of healthy food options, which are all freshly prepared on-site.
Co-owner John Trewhitt said “We are thrilled to receive such amazing accolades from the PPA and the fact that the awards are national is a fantastic achievement for Adventurelands and the North East as a whole.”
Adventurelands is one of 100 play providers nationwide that have been awarded entry into the Play Providers Association (PPA), which requires members to follow a strict code of conduct that goes above and beyond the recommended industry guidelines.
The PPA awards are the latest in a number of accolades to be given to the centre, including the Heart of Newcastle award which was granted by the city council and Newcastle Primary Care Trust.
