Firms get banking help from Business Link

North East companies are about to become best placed to receive funding from banks, according to new guidelines announced today.

Business Link has developed the new template after working closely with banks, who have agreed to a new set of criteria when making a decision on whether to offer financial support.

Alistair MacColl, Chief Executive of Business and Enterprise North East, said: “We are fully aware that cash flow is a real issue for businesses in the present climate.

“Behind the scenes, we have been working closely with the region’s banks to establish the best approach for businesses to secure a financial injection.”

The guidelines, which will be made available through Business Link, will be complemented by a series of workshops designed to help businesses develop their understanding of finance.

Alistair MacColl added: “Approaching lenders with a request for finance can be daunting, so producing these guidelines means businesses in the region will be able to provide the bank with everything they need.”

The guidelines will be available to businesses today at the Keep Your Business Fighting Fit Conference at the Sage Gateshead and will be followed by a series of breakfast seminars in October.
