Vodafone to sell iPhone in UK
Following yesterday’s announcment by Orange that the network will be offering Apple’s iPhone to UK consumers before the end of the year, another network has entered the battle over the popular device.
Vodafone and Apple today confirmed that they have reached agreement to bring iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS to the UK and Ireland in early 2010.
Pricing, tariffs and availability information have not yet been announced, much like Orange’s tight-lippedness over its plans for a pre-Christmas launch.
Vodafone already offers the iPhone through thirteen of its operating companies in other countries, but has been kept out of the UK market by O2’s exclusivity deal.
