Business school encourages creative connections

Newcastle University Business School is calling on creative businesses and individuals in the region to attend a free networking event in Newcastle.

As part of a rolling programme to nurture creative talent in the region, Newcastle University Business School is holding a ‘Creative Introductions’ event tomorrow in a bid to provide support, encourage networking and highlight creative talent in the North East of England.

The Creative Introductions event is part of a wider initiative of teaching, engagement and events led by Joanna Berry from Newcastle University Business School.

Joanna said: “The North East region produces a wide variety of hugely creative and very talented individuals that are an asset to our region’s creative and cultural industries. However, whether it is lack of support, recognition or other underlying issues, we are finding that all too many of these individuals are leaving the region to progress their careers.

“We are hoping this initiative will bring together a talented pool of creative individuals from across the North East including students, entrepreneurs, practitioners and academics. We know that partnerships and collaborations are one of the most important ways for us understand the nature of creativity, and the new network we are creating will help businesses and individuals in the creative sector to prosper and develop.”
