Next month the red carpet will be rolled out for the cream of the region’s contact centres at an event that has been pinned as the industry’s ‘Oscars.’ The winners will be revealed at a ‘Masquerade Ball’ themed awards ceremony on Friday 6 November at Rainton Meadows Arena in Sunderland.
The shortlist includes staff from companies including Churchill Insurance, Department of Work and Pensions, EDF Energy, EDS, Fusion, CE Electric, JML, More Than, BT, Eaga Plc, Orange, Sunderland City Council, Barclaycard, HMRC, Gentoo and Capita Hartshead.
The awards, in their seventh year, are organised by Tyne and Wear Development Company in association with Sunderland City Council.
The contact centre industry employs over 61,000 people in more than 145 centres region-wide. The awards aim to recognise and commend the achievements of the sector and its star performers.
Paul Buie, manager of Tyne and Wear Development Company said: “The region’s contact centre industry makes a major contribution to the local economy each year and these awards are a great way to highlight and promote the success of the industry within the region. The standard of entries demonstrates the strength of the industry, and we extend our congratulations to all of the finalists.”
Cllr Paul Watson, leader of Sunderland City Council said: “These awards go from strength to strength each year and present a magnificent opportunity to congratulate individuals and teams who have made the industry the success that it is today.”
