Avon's top seller named after selling £7m worth of goods
A Sunderland women who could not afford her rent five years ago has been crowned Britain’s top Avon lady having amassed a £7m turnover for the cosmetics giant.
Debbie Davis, 29, and partner Dave Carter, 40, were given a Mercedes SLK and a BMW Z3 after they led their team of 2,500 agents to win the title.
Miss Davis said: “I never thought at the age of 29 I would be able to say I was running my own lucrative business with my partner.”
She decided to turn to Avon after being made redundant from her job at a printing firm, and sold £18,800-worth of goods during a three-week sales drive.
Agents typically take 25% of the price for the goods they sell, but staff can join Avon’s management structure by recruiting and running teams of reps.
Their team’s turnover stands at £5.5m this year alone.
Despite having agents all over the country, and holding the title of Avon Senior Executive Sales Leader, Miss Davis still has her own round and continues to see her regular customers.
