No New Year crunch for Apple specialists
As many businesses face a slow and icy start to 2010, one new company is inundated with orders as festive mishaps cause work to roll in.
iRepair Ltd was set up in November 2009 by Darrel Emsden and Harry Nicholson after the duo spotted a gap in the market for repairs of out-of-warranty iPhones, iPods and other Apple equipment. Although they did expect a busy January, the duo admit that they did not anticipate the sheer volume of work they have seen since the beginning of the New Year.
Darrel Emsden, Director, said: “As we are mainly dealing with cracked displays and other external damage, we can only imagine that a great deal of people have had one-too-many over the festive season and perhaps dropped or damaged their iPhones and iPods!
“Of course, any increase in orders and demand for our services is to be welcomed, and it is particularly good for us that this is happening whilst the business is in such an early stage of its life.”
Darrel and Harry, both from Newcastle, share over 15 years of experience in the technology maintenance industry, and are aiming to develop iRepair Ltd as the UK’s premier Apple product repair centre, with hopes to eventually employ a team of engineers from their base at the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC).
Harry Nicholson, Director said: “We have big plans for 2010 which include moving to bigger premises at the BIC and taking on new staff members. We are now hoping that the current demand continues as this will allow us to bring these plans forward and expand the business as soon as in the first quarter of 2010.”
