Beating a path to the rest of the world
A music business which started life in the bedroom of a Tyneside council house has landed a deal with American broadcast network ABC, as the firm continues its rapid rise to power.
In the seven years since Steve Bainbridge launched royalty-free online music service, Beatsuite, the Newcastle firm has supplied tracks to the likes of the UN, Disney, Sega and even the Danish Parliament.
The latest big name to enlist the musical expertise of the company is US TV giant ABC News America which, while other recent contract wins include Kodak, Volkswagen and UBS.
The company has produced or commissioned 700 new tracks in the past 12 months and has also begun offering blanket music licenses to heavy music users such as video production companies around the world – most recently with Gulf Broadcast.
Alongside the completion of the recording studio and soundbooth the company has also had acoustic treatments for the recording spaces supplied by DACS in Gateshead which specialise in acoustic analysis and room treatments.
Mr Bainbridge said: “Our new recording studio has recently seen the installation of specialist ISDN lines that gives us the facility to ‘dial in’ voice artists from, anywhere in the world.
“Clients can use the studio to direct voiceover artists and save them travel costs. We also continue to provide high end voiceover production services. Recently we have provided voiceover for Flymo amongst others.” Beatsuite is based on Newcastle’s Pink Lane.
