Games masters seek investment
Two North East technology businesses are on the hunt for around £400,000 of new investment to take their groundbreaking game to the next level.
Fluid Pixel and Foof Productions – who have developed the cross-platform game Animentals – are looking for the investment to help market the game and develop a virtual world to support it.
Representatives from both companies aim to meet as many of the 50,000 delegates at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week.
They will also meet with mobile phone companies such as Nokia in the hope of persuading them to package the game – in which players nurse disturbed animals back to health – with the latest handsets.
Meanwhile they will also look to promote their iPhone App, Pimp the Chimp - which allows users to dress up a digital chimp and dictate its movements.
Speaking to bdaily from Barcelona, Foof Productions’ founder Andy Banks said: “There are some big players that we are going to talk to. And we are starting to get the funding together to create a virtual world for Animentals.
“We are also looking to increase the download rate from around 8,000 to 2,000,000.”
