Evolution line-up announced

The line-up for this year’s Evolution Festival in Newcastle and Gateshead has been announced.

Acts including the Futureheads and Ellie Goulding, will be joined by the likes of Paolo Nutini, and Tinchy Stryder for this year’s two-day music festival.

Evolution Festival 2010 will take place on the Bank Holiday weekend of May 30 and 31.

This year’s line-up includes a new folk and roots area - the Ballast Hill stage.

Sunday will see the Spillers Stage (situated on Spillers Wharf on Newcastle’s Quayside) headlined by Paolo Nutini, Calvin Harris, Tinchy Stryder the Futureheads, Frankie & The Heartstrings, Twenty Twenty, Natalie Findlay and Let’s Buy Happiness.

Enter Shikari will head up Evolution’s Bank Holiday Monday line-up. Other acts confirmed on Monday include The Horrors, De la Soul and Brits Critics’ Choice winner Ellie Goulding.

At the Baltic Stage Fake Blood, Benga, Rusko and Scratch Perverts will perform, and on Monday Delphic and Hadouken! will take the stage.

The Unthanks, King Creosote and Donovan will play at The new Ballast Hill stage, amongst others.
