Boosting Asian business is as easy as ABC
An Indian classical dancer who was hand-picked by Michael Jackson to dance with him in the infamous This Is It tour, is in the North East today to publicly launch Asian Business Connexions.
Ash Mukherjee – alongside former contestant on TV’s The Apprentice, Syed Ahmed – will be at the Baltic tonight to launch the initiative which aims to enhance the contribution Asian businesses make to the region’s economic and general well-being.
The organisation is designed to celebrate cultural diversity, as well as community and business cohesion and offers its members funding, tendering and training opportunities and business health checks and support.
With the theme of ‘Inspiring and Aspiring Asians’, the launch will tackle the reasons why the creation of ABC has been necessary and demonstrate how it will add value to all those involved.
As well as the keynote speakers, guests will be welcomed by a dholl and sitar player and treated to culturally creative cuisin
Syed Ahmed said: “As a committed and driven entrepreneur, I understand the advantages and disadvantages of being from an ethnic minority in the business world and know there are hundreds of Asians out there who make a significant contribution to their local economies and whose work deserves recognition.
“It therefore it gives me real pleasure to promote this fantastic social enterprise, which highlights best practice and celebrates successes, as well as paves the way for strategic partnerships in other communities and sector
Nitin Shukla, ABC’s chief executive, said: “ABC is a not-for-profit organization that is already opening up communications within the Asian and North East business communities to mutual benefit.
