France plugs into Tanfield
Smith Electric Vehicles - a subsidiary of Washington-based Tanfield Group - is to expand its presence in Europe.
The Wearside firm has appointed ElecTruckCity as the sole importer in France of its Smith Newton, the world’s best-selling electric truck and as a distributor for the Smith Edison, a pure electric version of the Ford Transit van.
ElecTruckCity is France’s foremost commercial electric vehicle specialist.
The company is rolling out a distribution network across 17major cities in France, including Paris, Lyon, Toulouse, Nice, Bordeaux and Marseilles, to capitalise on incentives for electric vehicles from the French Government. It expects to deliver its first Smith vehicles in the second half of this year.
