Robson Brown takeover completed
The boss of an international firm rumoured to be planning a takeover of Newcastle marketing company Robson Brown has told bdaily that the sale has now been completed.
Industry speculation was rife yesterday that the £30m-a-year Tyneside company was being lined up for a takeover by Round2, which has offices in London and in the US.
Robson Brown decined to comment on the rumours this morning, citing “legal reasons,” however Round2 has now confirmed the deal.
In an email to bdaily, Round2 CEO and chairman Garfield Ricketts - who is based at the group’s corporate headquarters in LA, simply said: “The transaction was completed this morning.”
It remains to be seen how much the firm has been acquired for or how Round2 plans to incorporate its new asset into the group.
Robson Brown employs around 80 people at its headquarters near Newcastle Central Station.
