Calibrating the management team

Equipment calibration specialist AMECaL has expanded its management team with both commercial and operational roles to drive forward the next stage of the business’ development, building on the recent success of the organization. With a wealth of business, sales and marketing experience, David Heppell joins the Walker-based calibrator as Sales & Marketing Manager and will work closely with Technical Director Steve Oxborough to achieve the exciting growth plans for the business. David has held a variety of roles in the business-to-business services sector, working with a software retailer and several trade associations in recent years. David said: “I was very impressed when I saw AMECaL’s multi-laboratory facility and the dedication and professionalism of its staff. This is an exciting time in the company’s history and the plans for an expansion of our laboratory operations into new custom-built premises next spring will give the company one of the best facilities in Europe.? Philip Armstrong brings with him a wealth of experience in quality management and calibration. He has been maintaining UKAS accredited quality systems for over ten years at a multi-laboratory company and has overseen some 41 successful audits. He has also contributed to several high-profile projects such as the London Olympic Park 2012 and Tyne Tunnel 2. Philip’s task is to oversee the procedures and systems operated by the company ? ensuring the laboratories remain at the forefront of excellence in calibration techniques; maintaining the company’s reputation as a leading authority in many fields of calibration and an invaluable centre of technical expertise in the UK. AMECaL Technical Director, Steve Oxborough, who set up the company after a lifelong interest in calibration, said: “These two new appointments will compliment our ambitious plans and forthcoming laboratory expansion.
