World first goes live

A bingo business in Newcastle will today become one of the first in the world to broadcast online games with live presenters ? after investing £100,000 in a new TV studio.

Newcastle Marketing Services (NMS), which employs 45 people on Tyneside, has recruited five presenters to start the games today ? with a further 15 to follow in the next three months.

The firm, which runs several bingo websites alongside a marketing service, will eventually present games 24/7 on its sites that include Crown Bingo, Deal or No Deal Bingo and Crazy Bingo.

NMS has developed the studio next to its base in Newcastle’s John Buddle Work Village.

Head presenter Roy Muncey Varty said: “We can’t wait to launch Bingo Studio Live, we have so many fantastic ideas to create an entertaining bingo show.

“We’re all really looking forward to meeting and getting to know the players on the Better Bingo Network.?

Company founder Dan Smyth, who has built the firm from scratch into a nationally-successful empire with additional operations on the Continent, in less than five years, said: “The studio is the next major step for NMS and puts us at the cutting edge of the market.

“Following the smoking ban and the recession, a lot of bingo players have opted to stay at home - we can now offer them a more personal experience from their own homes.?
