Datawright targets the Capital

Software specialist Datawright is hoping to capitalise on its relationship with one of the region’s biggest plcs by targeting national bluechips based in London.

Meanwhile, representatives from the Washington company are also spending this week in Malaysia as they meet with nine Asian manufacturing firms in the hope of adding to the group’s growing list of overseas clients.

The company has an ongoing partnership with the UK’s largest residential landlord – Newcastle-headquartered Grainger plc – after developing bespoke software for the group.

It now plans to host an event at Grainger’s London offices to show off the software to other South East and national property organisations.

Its invoice management system Snap 2.0 was originally developed for Grainger but has now been rolled out nationally and, according to the company, has global potential.

On the back of an existing client in Malaysia, the business is currently conducting a trade visit in partnership with the UKTI to the country on the hunt for new contracts.

Business development manager Ian Farrar, who is currently in Malaysia, said the company is hopeful of growing its Asian presence while it has also noted an upturn in its trade in the United Arab Emirates.

He said: “I’m in commercial talks in Dubai to secure a new contract with an existing client. Since Abu Dhabi bailed out Dubai companies are once again looking to invest in software.”

Datawright started life in the late seventies and today employs around 20 people.
