Building a greener future
A North East eco-entrepreneur has been invited to showcase his work at a global event for green technology in business.
Tynemouth-born Scott Horner is jetting off to the Globe 2010 gathering in Vancouver later this month and is the only North East representative to front the trade mission organised by UK Trade and Investment.
Mr Horner will be in Canada for the three-day conference and is looking forward to telling the world about his two new ventures, Decorated Shed and Horner House.
He said: “My plan is to completely change the way people view the places where they live and work.
“Decorated shed grew from a personal desire to create beautiful buildings. We change the inside of our homes but we never think about the building itself.
“Homer House will create healthy, environmentally sound and expressive homes and buildings.”
Horner House is being developed for the North American market and its owner hopes those present at the exhibition this month will take value from the environmentally friendly technology.
The businessman has already had a number of enquiries from public sector and commercial organisations, which are attracted to his energy efficient buildings.
Globe is North America’s leading event on sustainable business and attracts thousands of professionals through its doors to discuss solutions to the world’s environmental issues.
