Jobs boost for engineering firm
A Tees Valley engineering firm is ready to create over twenty jobs after plans to expand the business were unveiled.
After securing fresh funding, Teesside Precision Engineering is ready to bolster its workforce in Middlesbrough.
The company specialises in providing precision engineering services to the offshore engineering industry and the new cash injection will allow it to buy in new equipment and set up a new home on Skippers Lane Industrial Estate.
Teesside Precision Engineering director, David Dean: “This is an excellent opportunity to utilise the highly skilled workforce that exists within the Tees Valley area.
“Additional investment has been injected into the business to purchase a further six CNC machine tools to increase our capacity and capabilities.”
The bulk of the new jobs established will be centred on skilled machinists, management and administrative support staff.
The company will hone in on low to medium volume precision machined components and high volume products for the oil and gas markets and will also target the burgeoning medical trade.
The business has been established by three investors, David Dean, Roger Metcalfe and Russell Coates and all have pledged a commitment to investing in homegrown talent.
Mr. Dean added: “It’s our intention to participate in local apprenticeship programmes to support the future labour market requirements within the industry.”
The firm’s expansion has been supported with the help of a £95,000 Grant for Business Investment from the Regional Development Agency.
