IDS enjoys global boom
Medical testing kit maker IDS has predicted a 49% surge in annual turnover to £37.1m on the back of booming global sales.
The Boldon-based business said its turnover in the year ending March 2010 would climb by £12.2m on last year’s figure of £24.9m thanks to significant growth in the US, France and Germany as well as the UK.
Profits before tax for the period are expected to be in line with the Board’s expectations.
The company said sales of its recently-launched automated product IDS-iSYS had been below its targets, having sold 74 since its launch.
However, the firm said the revenues per instrument were well ahead of expectations and the directors believe that these revenues can be improved upon, having launched three additional automated products for during March 2010.
