Festival will Showacase Thrilling North East Talent
‘ThrillFest’ is a Film festival created to give the North East more recognition within the Film Industry.
The aims of the Festival are something the organiser Michelle Bayly strongly believes in, “Currently the North has so much potential and amazing talent which is going to waste and many artists are having to pay alot of money to travel to larger cities like London just for an audition.” The Festival is hoping to change this and bring artists together to help create more work for all of the artists right here.
Newcastle already hosts other film festivals but none of them are for Northern Films. Thrillfest has been created specifically for film makers from or films created within the North East of England. It is to celebrate the talent and help promote more of an industry here within the region and also hopes that film makers from outside will be tempted use the North East more.
The Festival is being held at Floor Four which is a venue that will be opening in September for artists to use and come together to create more work for themselves.
“Floor Four is an amazing building to have Thrillfest” Michelle explains. “Both of us want the same things for the North and we thought it would be a great chance to get together and help each other launch.”
Thrillfest is on the 22nd May and everyone is welcome. It is an all day event with an after networking party for the artists to meet eachother.
There are already a wide variety of films being shown during the festival, however there are still places for more.
Closing dates for entries are at the end of April so if you have a film or a film idea and believe it will be ready to be shown at ‘Thrillfest’ in May view the website www.thrillfest.webs.com for more information on how to enter.
Otherwise come along on the 22nd of May and enjoy the films created in the region we live.
