O2 calls on Sunderland firm
A TECHNOLOGY firm is gearing up to handle £12m worth of business from 100,000 new customers on the back of an ongoing partnership with telecoms giant o2.
Sunderland-based Cellular Solutions, which employs 29 people, looks set to enjoy a huge boost in business thanks to o2’s decision to transfer the management of some of its SME business clients to regional partners.
The North East firm is one of only 12 o2 Centres of Excellence in the UK and will now gain a share of thousands of SME contracts which, given the average spend of its customers, is estimated to be worth around £12m to the firm.
Managing director Mike Bowers said: “This kind of influx of clients means job safeguards, but also gives us so much extra business that we will no doubt be on the recruitment drive again, having recently employed five people in January.
“We are thrilled that o2 is recognising the work of its closest channel allies like ourselves in this way. It demonstrates their commitment to the partner channel and to driving further collaboration.”
Ben Dowd, o2 UK business sales director, said: “We have already moved a chunk of business onto them in recognition of the fact the indirect channel does a tremendous job for us, and delivers us really world-class churn.”
Cellular Solutions offers a range of communication technologies and services to businesses, with Newcastle International Airport, Narec and Yorkshire Tea listed among its clients.
