Robson Brown owner moves in on deal
THE American owner of North East advertising agency Robson Brown is closing in on its third UK acquisition in less than two months as it continues its European expansion.
Los Angeles-based Round 2 bought the region’s largest ad agency last month to form Round 2 International-UK – which then went on to snap up London ad firm AW Communications earlier this month.
The move is expected to take its annual turnover to £100m this year.
Having previously stated its intention to continue its UK growth through acquisition, the company last night said it was close to another takeover deal.
Chairman Garfield Ricketts said: “Our expansion plans are part of a much larger plan – Five Year Strategic Plan – it is this plan that has guided the company for the past three years.
“It began with how we engaged our employees, our clients and the final portion is expansion and where we could or should expand.
“We have been in discussion with a third agency in the UK. Once that acquistion is complete we will decide what our new Five Year Strategic Plan will be.”
