North East Election round-up

FIND out which party will now run your constituency. Among the headlines for the North East were a snub for Labour in the embattled steel-making hotbed of Redcar and a victory for Labour in Durham, an area which was outlined as key to the Lib Dems.

Voter turnout was up in the region, although it would have been even higher if not for some organisational problems which left would-be voters locked out of polling stations at 10pm last night.

Read bdaily all next week as focus on how the election result will impact on the region’s business community and its public sector workforce.
