Fighting back against the floods
AN ENTREPRENEUR who saw his business dream washed away in the Morpeth Floods of 2008, is back on track having invented a revolutionary new energy management system for the business world.
Morpeth-based Telemetry Online - the brainchild of former gas engineer Peter Chambers - has invented a cutting edge green technology that will dramatically reduce costs to the region’s businesses.
Mr. Chambers said: “HEAT4 is remote monitoring system used to control unmanned plants and equipment in the gas, water, electricity and process industries and we expect to achieve sales of £100,000 this year.
“I realised there was an opportunity to adapt the systems I had worked with to enable small businesses to cut costs and reduce energy waste.
“The new system monitors inside and outside temperatures every minute of the day so that your heating is at the temperature you have chosen all the time. This will save people lots of money.”
The system works through sensors both inside and outside of a building, which then collects temperature information and passes it on to a system controller.
The information will then be processed by software, which runs on a small netbook computer to control the boiler and zone controller, so that heating is activated at just the right time.
Mr. Chambers added: “The energy saving log calculates just how much energy and money is being saved through this predictive control.
“I was feeling despondent after losing my two main computers to the Morpeth floods which I had invested my own finances in.
“Our HEAT4 system is now in full production, ready to deliver real benefits of convenience and energy saving.”
