Flight boost for DTV
A NEW Sunday service from Durham Tees Valley Airport to Southampton is being launched by Eastern Airways as it expands the route to offer passengers even more choice.
The UK regional airline will introduce the new service from Sunday 6 June 2010, which will complement its existing two flights each weekday to Southampton.
Eastern Airways’ Sunday flights will benefit business travellers heading to the south of England ready for an early start on a Monday, as well as visiting weekend leisure passengers or those joining a cruise ship.
Sunday services will depart from Durham Tees Valley at 5.25pm, landing in Southampton at 6.30pm. Flights leave Southampton at 7pm, arriving in Durham Tees Valley at 8.05pm.
Roger Hage, Eastern Airways’ ground operations manager, said: “We’re expanding our route between Durham Tees Valley and Southampton to offer business and leisure travellers even greater choice and flexibility with a Sunday service.
“The convenient Sunday service will not only appeal to leisure travellers visiting the south of England or catching a cruise liner from the busy port of Southampton, but also those travelling on business ready for a Monday morning start.”
