Companies win recognition
A string of regional businesses will receive an elite gold award this week, having earned the respect of a national business improvement body.
Hailing the success of the region’s commitment to its staff and attitude to business, Investors in People will present awards to 115 organisations from across the North East at the BIC on Wednesday.
Robert Macleod, managing director of Investors in People North East, said: “The fact that we have no fewer than 115 regional businesses and organisations of all sizes and from all sectors celebrating success demonstrates the commitment that the region shows to Investors in People.
“It is increasingly recognised that, as the UK’s premier business tool, Investors in People increases productivity, boosts performance and profits. We now have more than 2000 organisations in the region working with us and more are coming on board every month.”
Certificates will be awarded to engineering, steel, building, print, marketing and training companies as well as to charities and those working in the medical, education, arts, legal and financial sectors.
Seven organizations – including Thermo Fisher Scientific of Cramlington and Pear Tree Projects Ltd of Darlington – will be given gold awards.
Less than 1% of Investors in People businesses in the UK ever achieve the Gold status.
