THE chief executive of one of the region’s major stock market firms has passed away after a long illnes, the company announced today.
Lyn Miles served as chief executive of specialist glass manufacturer Romag for 30 years, playing a key role in its rapid rise to power as an international business.
A statement issued by the Consett company said it was “saddened” to report the death of Ms Miles.
Chairman John Kennair said: “It is with great sadness that I have to report the death on Friday, 4th June, of Lyn Miles, CEO of Romag.
“Lyn worked for Romag for almost 30 years and was instrumental in bringing Romag to the position it is today, continuing to be active in the business throughout her long illness.
“She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.”
For the time being I will be more active in the business, supporting the very able management team so skillfully nurtured by Lyn.“
During her tenure, the company became established in a number of overseas markets, with a 120,000 sq ft plant at its North East home and over 150 employees.
