Brulines dips into petrol sector again
BEER and fuel monitoring firm Brulines has made further inroads into the petrol station forecourt market with its second acquisition of the month.
The Stockton company has swopped for Halifax-headquartered LBI initially for £360,000 plus performance-related extras.
Brulines, whose main activity is the supply and installation of beer flow monitoring equipment into pub cellars across the UK, has been actively growing its presence on the petrol station forecourt since it acquired ‘wet stock’ management firm Edensure in 2008.
Craig Brocklehurst, current managing director of LBI will be appointed operations director of Brulines Forecourt Services Division, reporting to Phil Maud, managing director of the division.
Mr Brocklehurst said: “Our recent acquisitions in forecourt services are well run, profitable businesses employing high calibre people.
“We are now focused on growing our business organically by building on the broad customer base which has resulted from this year’s acquisitions.
“Across the division we now supply solutions to UK forecourt retailers accounting for over 60% of the fuel sold in the UK, including most of the major supermarkets and leading oil company brands.”
Earlier this month it was announced that Leicestershire firm Retail and Forecourt Solutions would become part of Brulines in a deal involving £1.2m upfront payment and two further payments based on the business’ profits.
LBI was established in 2006 and operates web-based contract management solutions for forecourt operations.
Fast-growing Brulines currently employs more than 290 people.
