Gateshead firm has designs on new contracts
CONSTRUCTION and design firm Koru Property Services has landed two deals worth almost £1m for work on North East projects.
The Gateshead company is to work on Four Housing Group’s project to renovate a building in Victoria Terrace, Durham, and the construction of eight bungalows in Thornley, County Durham.
Director Tony Henderson said: “We enjoy an excellent relationship with Four Housing Group, and like many of our other clients they have taken advantage of the specialist services Koru offer, from property renovation to construction , design and project management. This, together with our competitive tenders and operational efficiency means that we are able to enjoy the continued loyalty of our customers.”
With an expected completion date next month, the renovation of the property in Victoria Terrace will convert a former women’s refuge containing eight bedsits to three self contained flats and one staff accommodation flat for the North East Autistic Society (NEAS).
David Brown, head of development and regeneration at Four Housing Group, said: “Due to the economic down turn many of the regeneration plans were put on hold.
“However, the council has decided to restart this particular scheme in order to re-house a number of elderly residents who were displaced by the demolition of properties in the area.”
