Wear Back!
An evolving North East house builder is ready to embark on a major construction programme on Wearside.
Keepmoat Homes has completed the purchase of an acre of land in Washington adjacent to the A1 and plans to be on site within a month.
It is the first time the company has developed a Wearside site since it completed work at Vane Tempest in Seaham three years ago.
Ian Prescott, Land and Partnership’s Director with Keepmoat Homes North East, said: “We’re delighted to have secured this site in Washington. As a company we have a strong presence in County Durham and Teesside but are now looking to also significantly increase our presence across Tyne and Wear with exciting developments at Wallsend, Blaydon, Blakelaw and now this one in Washington.”
The return to Wearside is part of an ambitious expansion by Keepmoat Homes North East.
In 2009/ 10 the company built and sold 274 dwellings and this year plans to increase its business to over 400 new homes.
Proximity to the A1(M) and other major road networks are expected to make the development popular with house hunters working in Durham, Newcastle and Sunderland.
