Yule do nicely for Durham Business Group
A BUSINESS networking organisation which recently helped 65 apprentices secure employment in the region has appointed a new managing director following its restructure.
Christine Yule takes on the role at the newly formed Durham Business Group which brings together networking organisation Durham Business Club, Durham Training and the soon to be established Durham Office Services.
Ms. Yule, who previously worked as development director for Durham Business Club, said: “The Business Club has been around for almost 30 years but we are far more than a networking club and have a vibrant training division that has provided hundreds of apprentices for the workforce.
“The formation of the Durham Business Group allows each of our service areas to have its own identity and to develop independently of each other.”
Durham Business Club, which was formed in 1981 and has almost 300 members, holds monthly events which bring together businesses from across the region to network and share their knowledge and experience.
Durham Training provides business related training and work-based training for apprentices in hairdressing, beauty therapy, business administration and accounts. Last year, it helped 65 apprentices into employment and last year recorded an 86% graduation rate, well above the national average of 69%.
