New jobs land at Newcastle International
LOW-FARE airline Jet2 has announced flights to five new tourism hotspots from Tyneside creating 30 new jobs.
Jet2.com will fly to Toulouse, in France, for the first time, and is bringing back services to Krakow, Poland, and Prague, in the Czech Republic to Newcastle.
The budget carrier will also start flying to Alicante, in Spain, and Faro, Portugal for the first time.
The announcement will mean 150,000 extra seats will be available to North East holidaymakers from next year, as well as creating 30 new jobs.
Newcastle International chief executive Dave Laws said: “Our partnership with Jet2.com goes from strength to strength.
“We are delighted with the five additional routes Jet2.com will be operating, combining popular holiday, and city break and business destinations.
“It is great to get Prague and Krakow back, and particularly pleasing to secure Toulouse for the first time from Newcastle.”
Jet2.com bosses are bringing an extra Boeing 737 aircraft to Newcastle to service the new routes.
