Contact centre recognised for service excellence

A BUSINESS contact centre has been recognised for its services in getting the region¹s long-term unemployed back into work.

Sunderland-based 2Touch, which employs 900 people, received the award in recognition of the initiatives it put into place to attract new recruits, in partnership withJobcentre Plus.

Tracy Taylor, head of recruitment at 2Touch, said: “Everyone deserves achance to prove themselves in a career, regardless of how long they’ve been out of work. In fact, the various initiatives have supplied us with some of our best long-term employees in a very competitive area for recruitment.

“It’s great to see the recruitment team here recognised for its commitment to employing local people without any prejudice. However, our real reward has been the string of excellent employees these initiatives have produced.

“The initiatives produced by the organisation included running an open day so prospective recruits could witness the call centre working environment firsthand.

2Touch also arranged a six-week training programme through Jobcentre Plus,designed to give attendees the foundation skills needed to work in a contact centre.

The long-term unemployed regularly use the courses as a means to gettingback in to work.The company was presented with the Recruitment Partnership Award during aceremony held at 2Touch’s head office at Doxford Technology Park in Sunderland.The award was presented by Isobel Robertson from the North East Chamber of Commerce, and received on behalf of the team by Stuart Gray and Courtney Moore.
