America beckons for Onyx following major appointment
DRUG research firm Onyx Scientific has set out plans to grow its US presence after appointing a new business development director with global pedigree.
The £4m-a-year Sunderland company currently conducts around 25% of its business in North America – the world’s largest pharmaceutical market.
It is now aiming to step up its operations stateside with the appointment of Craig Loftus as director of new business development to drive its ambitious plans.
Mr Loftus has 25 years of commercial experience working for several large outfits including GE, Merck, Millpore and Stedim.
He said: “I am excited about working for such a high quality company as Onyx Scientific and am looking forward to leveraging previous relationships.
Managing director Dr Tony Flinn said: “Our ambition is to really grow the business as aggressively as we can, especially in the important US market. We have around 25% of business in the US and we hope to do more.”
