From Silicon Alley to Silicon Valley
A FLEDGLING mobile ecommerce organisation will next month launch its new product at one of the world’s most high profile digital events at Silicon Valley.
Developers at MobiCart, based in Newcastle, have been working to create one of the first mobile e-commerce app builders – designed to make it easier for online retailers to tap into the rapidly growing mobile phone industry.
The firm, which is located appropriately at Silicon Alley, is now ready to unveil the application in California as part of a three-day DEMO conference.
The event has been the launch pad for a host of emerging technologies and MobiCart hopes to join the illustrious line, which includes Adobe Acrobat, Palm Computing and Skype.
Wladimir Baranoff-Rossine, MobiCart CEO and founder, said: “This will provide us with the perfect opportunity to showcase our new product to the world.
“Mobile commerce is the future and we are delighted to be at the forefront of this fast-growing industry.”
In the last 20 years, DEMO has reviewed more than 20,000 companies, with 1,500 selected to launch on the stage.
The visit by MobiCart to the States will involve representatives delivering a six minute presentation to more than 700 venture capitalists, journalists and industry experts.
