Rolling with it - wheelchair firm expands
A TEES VALLEY firm that manufactures and assembles wheelchairs has unveiled a new expansion project creating 13 new jobs.
Greencare Mobility Ltd has secured a Grant for Business Investment of £65,000 to help fund its development programme at its base on Riverside Industrial Estate in Middlesbrough.
The project will allow the firm to build a new mezzanine floor at its factory and purchase new equipment to enable the company to carry out work in-house that is currently being outsourced.
Greencare Mobility owner, Colin Scarsi, said: “Greencare is seeing a growing demand for our products and we want to increase production space in the current facility to help us capitalise on this growth.
“It is an exciting project that will create jobs and cement Greencare’s growing reputation in the industry.”
Greencare Mobility was established in 2005 by Mr Scarsi and David Batty, who has 20-years experience designing and manufacturing mobility equipment.
The company also supplies wheelchairs to the NHS and is the only UK company doing so.
