AECOM wins redevelopment contract
THE Newcastle office of global engineering group AECOM has landed a contract for work on an £10m redevelopment project in South Tyneside.
The company will work with contractor, Miller Construction, on behalf of South Tyneside Borough Council and One NorthEast to construct this first-phase building which will be home to BT.
The project team will deliver a 43,000sq ft, four-storey, hi-specification building that is part of a wider scheme to develop the reclaimed land on the river bank into a commercial area.
Regional director Keith Armstrong said: “This is a significant contract win for the first phase of a major regeneration scheme. It is a clear indicator that AECOM is leading the way as a multidisciplinary firm with a reputation for innovative, advanced technology solutions.”
Miller Construction started work on the project last week, with the building scheduled for completion next summer.
