Teesside companies prepare for Christmas rush
OVER 600 jobs are on offer as employers across Teesside start the countdown to the festive season and look for additional staff to cope with the Christmas rush.
Whilst many people are enjoying the last of the summer, companies such as Argos, Asda Living, Birthdays, Debenhams and Marks & Spencer are beginning recruitment for full and part-time workers to fill permanent and seasonal vacancies in the area.
Up to 50 employers will be advertising vacancies at the jobsfairs organised by Jobcentre Plus, that started on the 9th September at Teesside Park.
Sandra DuQuesnay from Jobcentre Plus, said: “People can meet some of the employers face-to-face and can even apply for jobs on the spot.
“Advisers from Jobcentre Plus will also be on hand to give information on the financial support available to move into work.”“Over 500 people attended the first jobsfair at Teesside Retail Park, and we’re expecting similar numbers at the forthcoming events.
“This is a great opportunity to take the first step towards returning to the workplace. A range of temporary and permanent jobs are available.”
There are four more events planned across Teesside between the 14th and 29th of September.
