Career prospects go back to the future
CLIMATE change reversal specialist, human body-part makers, memory augmentation surgeons, space pilots and tour guides.
These are just some of the jobs that futurist Rohit Talwar has identified in a report, commissioned by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, which uncovers a list of 20 possible future professions.
Rohitis now coming to the North East to present his findings at a Service Network conference on 29th September aimed at looking at the world of work in 2030 and the opportunities it can bring. Rohit truly believes that in twenty years time most jobs as we know them will not exist.
The report reveals massive shifts in what the world of work may look like with continuing advancements in science and technology.
The Government will use these results to help prepare for the changing workplace and the opportunities that this might offer to the UK’s economy and businesses. Rohit is an internationally renowned futurist, award winning inspirational speaker, consultant and change agent.
He has even been previously invited to share the platform with Arnold Schwarzenegger to discuss California’s future in a changing global economy.

Other speakers at the conference include Rosie Farrer of NESTA (the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts) who will discuss their research into flexible work patterns and retirement ages; Alistair Smith of Jackson’s Law Firm who will cover the legal implications of the new retirement age; and Andy Owen, a marketing consultant who will address how to communicate effectively with mature customers.
