Crutes grows its team
A LAW firm has strengthened its nationally-recognised insurance practice and grown its North East presence.
Crutes Law Firm, which has offices in Newcastle, Teesside and Carlisle, has hired Ruth Markham as a solicitor as well as paralegals, Ben Wilson and Andrew Thirlwall.
The three recent recruits join a team of over 35 in Crutes’ insurance department which provides a full service to insurers, brokers, claims handlers, loss adjusters and self-insured organisations across the whole of the UK.
Andrew, 22, from Durham, graduated this summer from Northumbria University after studying the LLB exempting degree and working for a year in Northumbria University’s student law offices.
He said: “When I first came to Crutes it struck me that it was a quality people-focussed firm and I was impressed at how it addressed clients’ specific needs. It has a massive presence in the North East and my aim is to get established here and help Crutes develop its growing reputation throughout the UK.”
Ben, 24, from Hartlepool has also recently graduated, having completed an LPC course in June. Prior to joining Crutes, Ben spent two months in Ryedale District Council’s litigation department conducting debt recovery work.
He said: “The fact that Crutes has a strong litigation focus really appealed to me, as did its reputation as one of the North East’s leading law firms.
“I was also impressed at how it offers a wide ranging service, yet remains very personable to its clients.”
Ben will work predominantly on insurance litigation and professional indemnity work and will assist Crutes’ solicitors on some major cases.
Having previously spent three year as a solicitor at Eversheds LLP, Ruth, 29, from Sunderland, joined Crutes earlier this year and has already made a big impact on clients.
