CIM makes changes at the top
THE Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has appointed Sunderland-based Sam Meredith as new chair of the North East Branch following Jo Elliot stepping down after eighteen months.
Sam, who has 15 years marketing experience in public and private sector, is internal communications manager at Sunderland City Council, where she is responsible for strategic development, planning and employee engagement. She joined the North East CIM team in 2008.
She said: “It is a huge honour and achievement to be appointed Branch Chair and I look forward to playing a leading role in the further development of the North East Branch.”
“For me, it’s about being proactive and playing a more strategic role across the region by developing events and activities, which are relevant, topical and targeted at identified audiences.”
The institute’s regional director Diane Earles said: “I am delighted to see Sam appointed as chair. She brings a strategic drive, dedication and passion to her new role; I look forward to seeing what the North East team achieves with Sam in the lead.”
