Manufacturer tipps hat to strong results
THE North East manufacturing giant behind Tommee Tippee baby products has set out plans to continue new product development amid an increasingly competitive market, after reporting a £6m climb in annual revenue.
Jackel International, which employs around 120 people in Cramlington, saw its annual revenue climb to £44m in the year ending 31 December 2009 while profit for the year remained relatively flat at £4.5m.
A company statement published on Companies House said: “[We] will continue to innovate [our] product offering in order to maintain and grow sales in existing markets and will actively work to develop new markets for our product, where there are opportunities to do so profitably.
“The key business risks and uncertainties affecting the company are considered to relate to competition from both national and international baby accessories suppliers, employee retention and product availability.”
As well as the Tommee Tippee brand, Jackel also makes private label goods.
