Wearside Jack-pot
THE UK’S biggest lottery prize remains unclaimed, despite the efforts of a Sunderland hoaxer who claimed to have won the jackpot.
Operator Camelot confirmed no one had yet come forward for Friday’s EuroMillions jackpot.
A Sunderland man yesterday sent the internet into a frenzy after posting what appeared to be the winning ticket on social networking site Facebook.
The ex-Nissan worker calling himself Peter Lowery, 26, posted a message saying: “OMG!!! I’ve won the euro millions jackpot. WTF! This isn’t a joke!!! I can’t breathe!!”
The Sun was also bombarded with dozens of calls from excited readers claiming they know the winner.
But none of them have been confirmed by Camelot. Officials have refused to say where the winning ticket was bought in the UK.
