£6m deal for Teesside firm
TEESSIDE engineering services firm Pearson Harper has landed a £6.25m contract by Chevron Australia Pty to work on a major offshore development off the coast of Western Australia.
Pearson Harper’s contract, which will create 20 jobs in the North East, is to provide engineering information management (EIM) services and software solutions for the Gorgon Project.
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project will develop the Greater Gorgon Area gas fields 130 kilometres off the north-west coast of Western Australia; the country’s largest single resource project to date.
Pearson-Harper’s role involves working with the project’s engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) teams to collect and manage the vast amounts of engineering information needed to build and operate the project.
Martyn Pellew, president of the North East Chamber of Commerce and non-executive director of Pearson-Harper, said: “This is a highly significant contract for both Pearson Harper and the North East of England. It heralds a step change for the company which for almost 20 years has been recognised as a leader in engineering information management. We’re delighted that Pearson-Harper’s excellence has been recognised in this way and we are very proud to be working with Chevron on the Gorgon Project.”
